Ingredients:
- 1 loaf (1 lb/450g) Italian or French bread, unsliced
- ½ cup (1 stick/113g) unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced (approx. 1 tbsp)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups (8 oz/225g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup (2 oz/55g) shredded Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Cut the bread lengthwise, almost all the way through (leaving the bottom crust intact). Then cut crosswise, creating a grid pattern of squares.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Brush the garlic butter generously all over the bread, ensuring it gets into the cuts.
- Stuff the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese into the cuts of the bread, distributing it evenly.
- Place the bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (if desired). Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread is golden brown.
- Let the bread cool slightly before pulling apart and serving.
