Ingredients:

  • 9 cups Rice or Corn Chex cereal
  • 1 cup Valentine themed M&Ms
  • 1/2 cup mini pretzel twists
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup strawberry or cherry dry cake mix
  • 2 tbsp Valentine heart shaped sprinkles

Instructions:

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips, creamy peanut butter, and cubed butter. Heat in 30-second intervals at 50% power, stirring vigorously between each. Stop when the mixture is 90% melted; use residual heat to finish for a glossy liquid. Stir in the vanilla and salt.
  2. Place the rice cereal in a very large mixing bowl. Pour the warm chocolate and peanut butter mixture over the top in a slow stream.
  3. Using a large rubber spatula, gently fold the mixture until every piece of cereal is evenly coated, taking care not to crush the squares.
  4. In a separate large container or Ziploc bag, combine the powdered sugar and dry cake mix. Add the coated cereal to the sugar mixture.
  5. Seal the container and shake vigorously until the cereal is fully coated in the festive powder. Spread the mix onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Immediately toss in the Valentine M&Ms, pretzels, and sprinkles. Allow the mix to 'flash-set' and cool for 20 minutes before serving or packaging.
