- 1 cup (30g) fresh basil leaves
- 2 tbsp (30ml) extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp (15ml) balsamic glaze
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- Optional: Edible flowers for garnish (e.g., nasturtiums, violets)
Instructions:
- Wash the tomatoes and basil leaves thoroughly.
- Slice the mozzarella into ¼-inch thick rounds.
- Arrange the tomato slices on a platter, alternating with mozzarella slices.
- Tuck fresh basil leaves between the layers.
- Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze.
- Season with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
- Optionally, add edible flowers for color and a gourmet touch.
