Ingredients:
- 1 cup (150g) gluten-free all-purpose flour blend
- 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/2 cup (75g) nuts (walnuts or pecans, optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease or line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine gluten-free flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Gently fold in chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing into squares.
