Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (150g) gluten-free all-purpose flour blend
  • 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (75g) nuts (walnuts or pecans, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease or line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, combine gluten-free flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Gently fold in chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
  7. Transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing into squares.
