Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) cooked crab meat, picked through for shells
- 1/2 cup (120ml) mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) finely chopped fresh dill
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) finely chopped celery
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) finely chopped red onion
- 1/4 teaspoon (1g) salt, or to taste
- 1/8 teaspoon (0.5g) black pepper, or to taste
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions:
- Gently flake the crab meat with your fingers, ensuring no shell fragments remain. Place in a medium mixing bowl.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, dill, celery, red onion, salt, pepper, and optional cayenne pepper.
- Pour the dressing over the crab meat. Gently fold the dressing into the crab meat until evenly coated. Avoid overmixing.
- For best flavor, cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve immediately or within 24 hours.
