Ingredients:

  • 6 medium ripe peaches, peeled and sliced (about 900g)
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons (15g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (100g) packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (113g) cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 cup (30g) rolled oats (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Peel and slice the peaches. In a large bowl, combine the peaches with sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss gently to coat.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients using a pastry blender (or your fingers) until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the oats, if using.
  4. Pour the peach filling into the baking dish. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the peaches.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving.
