Ingredients:

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Optional: Chopped pecans or marshmallows for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and cube the sweet potatoes into 1-inch pieces.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and water. Whisk until smooth.
  4. In the baking dish, add the cubed sweet potatoes and pour the sauce over them. Toss to evenly coat.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, basting occasionally, until sweet potatoes are tender and caramelized.
  6. (Optional) Sprinkle with nuts or marshmallows during the last 5 minutes of baking for added texture.
