Ingredients:
- 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup water
- Optional: Chopped pecans or marshmallows for topping
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and cube the sweet potatoes into 1-inch pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and water. Whisk until smooth.
- In the baking dish, add the cubed sweet potatoes and pour the sauce over them. Toss to evenly coat.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, basting occasionally, until sweet potatoes are tender and caramelized.
- (Optional) Sprinkle with nuts or marshmallows during the last 5 minutes of baking for added texture.
