Ingredients:

  • ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground (or to taste)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Be careful not to let it brown.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant but not browned. Keep the heat low to avoid burning the garlic.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Pour the garlic butter into a mixing bowl.
  4. Add the chopped parsley, chives, lemon zest, salt, and pepper to the bowl.
  5. Whisk or stir with a fork until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  6. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Bring to room temperature or gently reheat before using.
