Ingredients:
- 2 cups (475 ml) Whole Milk
- 1/4 cup (30 g) Dark Chocolate Chips (60-70% cacao), finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons (25 g) Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- Pinch of Chili Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Tequila Reposado (optional)
- Whipped Cream, for garnish (optional)
- Chocolate shavings, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, heat the milk over medium-low heat. Be careful not to boil.
- Once the milk is steaming (but not boiling!), reduce the heat to low. Add the chocolate chips, sugar, cinnamon, and chili powder.
- Whisk constantly until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy. Ensure no chocolate remains stuck to the bottom of the pan.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and tequila (if using).
- Pour the hot chocolate into mugs. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings (if desired). Serve immediately.
